Meet Our Staff

Minister

Salem is currently reviewing applications for a new Pastor. Meanwhile, our pulpit is being filled with Supply Pastors providing inspirational messages each week. Please join us. You will find a warm welcome at Salem Presbyterian Church. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

The Session

Each person in the church is blessed with gifts, and God calls us to use them in service to the church and the world. Presbyterians live out this call through a representative style of leadership, ordaining ministers to be "teaching elders" and men and women with particular gifts for discerning God's Spirit and leading God's people to be "ruling elders."

The Session is the governing board of the local church that is chosen by the congregation to serve for a three-year term. Comprised of five ruling elders, together with the teaching elder as moderator, the Session attends to the business of the church on behalf of the people. As Constitution of our denomination states: "Ruling elders, together with teaching elders, exercise leadership, government, spiritual discernment, and discipline and have responsibilities for the life of a congregation as well as the whole church, including ecumenical relationships." They generously give of their wisdom, time, talents, and energy in service to God and God's people.

Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor. (I Timothy 5:17)
